WordPress or Blogger? Which one?
Of the many blogging platforms available, the top two are (and probably always will be) WordPress and Blogger. Both are free, both are easy to use with your own hosting providers, both provide web space if you do not have your own hosting provider. How do you decide which one is right for you?
If you are new to blogging, Blogger is your best bet. The price is right (free) and it offers you a platform that is easy to use. What’s more, Blogger offers you as much control over your template as you like. There are sites on the internet that feature free Blogger templates so if you do not like the pre-designed ones offered by Blogger, you are free to download one from somewhere else or write your own. Blogger also features a built-in FTP client so that, if you want to buy a domain name and hosting elsewhere on the web, you can easily implement your blog into that site.
WordPress, like Blogger is free. You can have a free blog on the WordPress servers or you can download the WordPress platform and install it into your own web hosting program. You will need your own FTP client to do this. WordPress has thousands of free themes (templates) and there are websites all over the internet that are devoted to promoting independently designed free themes. WordPress also has hundreds of “plug ins” to help you increase the function of your website. Many non-bloggers love WordPress because of its plug-in library and how easy it is to make a blog theme look like a business website layout. WordPress is more for people who have some web experience.
The best thing about these platforms is that it you can play around with both of them and then decide which one is best for you. There’s no money exchanging hands, so experiment away!

I would go with blogger. Because I believe that as soon as I post something new, google will know about it immediately as it will be on their server.
Blooger out of the 2, but if you can, hoss your own blog site.
Great thing that these two are free.
I prefer to use wordpress for my self hosted blog.
Yes, this is the best option.
When I started bloggin, I signed up at blogger and it’s quite convincing. I had also tried wordpress but I found blogger a bit easier to manipulate everything. I go for blogger.
Personally I think there is a more important question to ask before asking where you should blog and on what platform. That question is, “Do I want to make money from this blog?” The answer to that is either a simple yes or no, and should be the one guiding you towards where you should start a blog.
Getting your own domain isn’t a big investment, I just did it for yet another blog this weekend and got the year registration on the domain and first months hosting for $12.00 with $6 monthly hosting fees after that. If you start on a free site no matter how much money you save, every bit of your work is for nothing if you decided later on to start blogging for money.
In my opinion you will know in 30 days if you want to keep it up and have lost no more than your $12 and will always be able to move to a community blogging environment with lots of post to share where page rank and seo mean very little.
There is no hard evidence to support this theory. Thousands of WP blogs can be indexed in mere hours or even minutes if you do certain things right.
It should be noted that the free hosted WP.com blogs can have NO monetization what-so-ever.
I agree with you.
I myself like Blogger just because it is seems to be more user-friendly. But for exposure, I am sure WordPress is superior.
The downside with wordpress.com is they don’t allow adsense ads and paid reviews. but recently i read they changed the rules and allow some adsense ads.
if so, there might be a lot of migration from blogger to wp
Looks like they’ve changed it recently. Any news?
Yes, they recently began to accept advertisement from google.
I agree, WordPress has much more tools than Blogger.
but blogger is more user friendly and allow us to change the theme with our own creation.
so i copy any free wp theme and ported to blogger platform.
and i try to designate new blogger template to make it more colorful.
and i share it for free.
so
