Tips for Blogger’s Block
We all get it and for some of us it is really bad. All bloggers (and writers) have those periods of time when they can’t think of what to write about. I will share some of my tips on how I handle it. There are several ways in which you can help yourself think of something good to write about. I like to go outside and shoot some hoops or maybe watch some television. Just do something that is relaxing and hopefully something will naturally come to you. Everyone has their own things that they like to do when they think whether it be exercising, surfing the net, watching television, or even taking showers (I know many people who get good ideas while taking showers, including me). Basically it is anything that relaxes you and takes your mind off the fact that you want (or need?) to post something today.
If you still don’t have any ideas after trying an activity like this you may want to look at other blogs in the same niche. Don’t copy their posts or basically rephrase what they said, but instead try to think of something similar (but different enough so it doesn’t look the same) to write about. Maybe you can write a post about their post, where you can voice your own opinions on the topic at hand.
If you still can’t think of anything worthwhile then maybe you shouldn’t post on that day. Remember quality is always better than quantity, so don’t write a post just for the sake of writing it. If you don’t have anything good and unique to say then it really is pointless. Just wait until the next day and hope something comes to you then. Also, don’t post something too off topic from your site’s niche because your normally targeted audience may be turned off if they see too many off topic posts (once in a while is still fine though).
Anyone have any other tips for fighting blogger’s block? If so please comment, I am sure many people (including me) would like to read them.

I like to get out doors and take a walk.
Also, you can mention the negative instead of the postive. Screw-ups can make a good post.
Those are all great ideas. If I find myself lacking ideas, i’ll tend to pick some new product I just used and review it. I find people like to hear an honest review about something new on the market. In my case it’s usually a video game
I used to take a long drive to nowhere and back. Just to ponder thoughts, clear my head, etc…
I really like the “inspiration” idea above, whether you get it from another blogger, a PLR article or whatever, it can make for a handy post in a pinch. As stated tho, be sure to change it up good and plenty.
I also really like what bloggers such as Andy Beard do - he almost always has a ton of outgoing links in each post, referencing other bloggers on a particular topic. This is good for a host of reasons which I won’t blabber on about here
If you’re really in a bind, why not grab an article in your niche off of a directory…just be sure to leave the resource box in-tact an give credit where it’s due.
Excellent topic!
That’s great tips.
How do I get my paragraphs to space out? I’m not liken that look at all, sorry.
I’ve found that relaxing activities allow me to more effectively brainstorm! I like to think of new ideas in the shower and while walking the dog! It helps me to have a clear head and be relaxed. When I’m tensed up or overstressed, it can be much more difficult to produce quality content. The key is to maximize the days that you can think best on by writing down all of your ideas and making brief outlines…. that way when you cannot think of anything on a certain day, you’ll have a nice list to work from
Referencing other bloggers w/ outgoing links is a great way to create a popular post. It usually gets all of the “linked bloggers” to read and comment on the post, and your readers will like when you link to other quality articles!
Walking is a great way to think of new ideas. I like to take my dog for a walk over to the park and experience nature. It just feels good to get out of the house. I usually think of my best ideas when I’m away from the computer
good ideas..
Have you ever tried mind-mapping? It’s an amazing idea that I’ve used for ages writing fiction but I hear it works just as well for blogging, too. Google it and you’ll see. It’s the combo of physically moving your hand and using color that activates the creative portion of your brain and helps you find what was right in front of you all along.
I’ve never tried mind mapping, but now that you brought it up, I would like to give it a shot and blog about my experience using the technique! It seems like it is somewhat complicated, but I’m going to keep an open mind w/ it.
Watching a good movie does it for me.
I couldn’t agree more on this point of view: A bad post is worse than no post.
[...] gets blogger’s block (also known as writer’s block) and sometimes you can’t help it no matter what you do. [...]
It’s only complicated if you try to use the software online which totally defeats the purpose. Just get yourself a box of markers or crayons, a big sheet of paper and then let go. Don’t over think it - let your creative brain do what it wants.
New and Orignal content is teh KING
You can find content from other sites and rewrite it if you are stuck.
I love to take a shower. I find that I write the best when I am relaxed, and my mind isn’t ‘hyper-active’.
I call blogger’s block BLOGSTIPATION.
I think as said always content is the king
My best advice is to write. Write when you want to. Write when you don’t. Write every day. It’s the best way go get in the rhythm.
