Keys to Success

There are certain things which all successful people (note that I wrote successful, not rich because all rich people aren’t necessarily successful) have in common. It doesn’t matter whether you are talking about webmasters who have made millions from their sites or pro athletes or engineers. A couple of things they all have are determination and motivation. Without these two characteristics they would never have gotten where they are because if they didn’t care then they wouldn’t have tried. Hardly anything can get accomplished if one doesn’t try.

Motivation is what leads someone to try something. In other words, it is what creates determination. One’s motives give him/her a reason to put effort and hard work into achieving their goals (having goals is another big part of having success, but I’ll save that discussion for another time). Motivation is very important to webmasters and bloggers
because without it laziness and carelessness will most probably kill your blog or site. If you don’t have any determination then you will not make it (unless you get very lucky, which is rare).

There are many webmasters who I have come across on forums and other sites who want to make money (or have a site with thousands of users), but are unwilling to put any real effort into it. It takes time (and sometimes money) to start up a successful site. You can’t just expect to make thousands (or any significant amount) by throwing a few pages of
content together and just waiting. Most sites need to be constantly worked on and updated, especially blogs, which are based on regular updates. I don’t want to discourage anyone, but if you are unwilling to put the time and effort into doing something, then maybe you should rethink doing it (and hopefully you can find something else which you are interested in and determined to work at)

Yes, if you lose the motivation, it may be time for you to take a break to recharge your batteries.

I agree with you. Too many people want the money without putting any time or effort into it.
No matter what it is in life – you gotta work at it.

I like what you say about having to work hard. That is the single most important ingredient to success, and I’ve heard this from self-made and very-rich people. Some of these business articles go into it.

I agree motivation is key, but focus is also essential.

You can be very motivated but not be able to channel that energy to produce results.

    That’s where focus comes in.

I think that knowledge about the thing you want to be successful is also important. You may have motivation to do something, but if you don’t know ho to do it, you want be successful.
