My name is John and many of you would like to know what qualifies me as someone worthy of writing a blog about blogging. Well I have been running a successful celebrity gossip blog since May of 2006. I started with no experience and no prior knowledge of how to use the site to generate income let alone get traffic. I will take you through some of the mistakes I made, lessons I have learned, and hopefully in the end give you the knowledge to make a nice living off of your online world.

For the month of May 2008 - the two year Anniversary of my site - I was able to generate nearly 300,000 visits and 850,000 pageviews. That traffic also generated approximately $5,000 in revenue from advertising. This is a far cry from my first month when I barely cracked 1000 pageviews and made under $2. This took time and work, but in the end the results are more than I could have hoped for when I started a site to help pay my cell phone bill.
